Deliver True Integrated Care with Strategies Built for Correctional Facilities
Integrated care is the future of healthcare–a model and strategy necessary for correctional facilities to deliver comprehensive care to their patient population. Yet true integrated care has been difficult to achieve. Going forward, the challenge will be using technology to overcome the barriers to more holistic care.
Integrated care is an approach characterized by the delivery of primary care and behavioral health services in one setting or multiple settings with shared EHR access. Some models incorporate oral healthcare, as well. There is a high degree of collaboration and communication between providers in different specialties under the integrated care model.
